We arrived in the dark, got our car, and navigated numerous circles around tall buildings and shops until we finally found our hotel. As soon as we parked a guy offered to watch our car for 1000 colones. When we refused he offered us a much-discounted rate of 500 colones which we also resisted. Despite internet warnings, we experienced no bed bug problems at our hotel.
